Finished Week 2...onto week 3

Well I'm still a vegetarian. lol. No meat for me whatsoever. I don't really have much to write about this time about this whole plan of mine. Unfortunately, I think I've gained weight because of stress of starting a new school and so on and trying to get acquainted with myself here. I haven't exercised in forever because of being sick last week and being  busy this week. But I'm gonna go ahead and let myself rest the rest of this week and pick it back up on Monday.
I went out with my cousin tonight to a basketball game. A civil war game against my new high school and her old high school she just graduated from. My school lost unfortunately, but I told her we could go to dinner afterwards and she said tacos. I said well as long as there's something with no meat there I'll be okay. She was so shocked and she said she could never do it and that I was crazy for going vegetarian. But I'm standing strong so far in this vegetarian aspect. And all I can say is that I'm pretty proud of myself so far. Which is a kinda good thing (:

Still Goin' Strong (9 times out of 10)

It's been a little over a week since I've started this vegetarian diet and I must say, I feel great about it! Everyone keeps offering me meat and stuff and I just say no. Thins is, so far, it doesn't even look appetizing to me. Which is good! But I went shopping with my mom on Monday and we were getting food and I realized I couldn't have ravioli or spaghetti and meatballs. Poo! Haha. But I haven't broken yet! I went to BYU-Idaho and I went to the cafeteria to eat with my uncle and I almost got chicken or turkey because who would know? My uncle didn't know I was vegetarian yet and there was no one there who I knew so why not? But then I thought and I realized that I would know and I'd have a guilty conscience and I'd lose that bet with my mom. So I got a salad and a cookie, and I must say that it was a super good salad! lol.
As with exercising on this diet so far, I exercised all last week, but then I got sick on Monday and I haven't exercised yet because I just feel nasty. So I've been eating junk and not exercising to try and feel better. But I'm not allowed to run either because of my neck hurting and the shock on that isn't good apparently. So I'm going to try palates, which I heard was good as well. So when I get better, we'll see how that goes d:
So far I've already lost 4 pounds but of course you know it fluctuates between every day. But I'm already pretty proud of myself. Whoo! lol. :D

Still the first week

Well I guess my last post was more of an introductory. So this can explain a little more about the past couple days.
I've started running a mile every night. Not much, but it's something (: I'm proud of myself for it (: My legs and hips are so sore already just because I haven't ran in a long time and so far with the mile I don't stop at all besides the first time, I stopped for 3 seconds...literally. Haha.
My mom has taken me out to a couple places like Carl Jr's and Chuck-A-Rama and I've been able to resist meat so far. I must say I'm proud of myself (: I was so tempted to get a hamburger but as I think about it and look at the fake food on the wall, it kinda makes me sick looking at the grease already. So that's a good sign d:
I've been snacking a lot which is bad. So I'm gonna crack down on that so that way all the running I do later (because I'm hoping to hit about 3-5 miles a day) won't go to waste with all the snacking. Haha.
My mom keeps tempting me with meat and crap. Haha. She's said, "Oh this hamburger is sooo good. Do you just wanna give me $25 and we'll call it quits?" I refuse and keep on with my salad. Haha. I'm just really excited for this. I'm hoping to drop down about half of my pants size so that's exciting too! Haha.
Oh, if you guys have any ideas for vegetarian dishes, help me? (: I made some vegetarian potato chowder and the whole family loves it! Maybe I might slowly turn them vegetarian too! (;

First Week: The Beginning

So I've decided to have a serious thing with my new year's resolutions this year. I have three major points. Two which will contribute to the first.
1. Lose 30 lbs. I know everyone tells me, "That's too much!" But seriously, looking at BMI charts and other sites and information for years, that's what how much weight I need to lose to get to the healthy range. It's time to do it.
2. No soda. I tried this last year and made it to 6 months. I was pretty proud of myself. Then my birthday came and I got a job and all we had was soda that would keep you alert for the job and so on. Lame excuse, I know, but hey, I couldn't resist. Haha.
3. The hardest, in my opinion, of the three. I'm going to try and be a vegetarian. My mother says I won't last until February 1st. If I last until then, she'll give me $25. So I'm all for it! But I am serious. It's a healthy way to live and I don't think it's only about not eating meat, its just mainly about getting enough vegetables and fruits in your diet. I read the book Fat Cat and this girl went back to the ways of barbarians of eating very healthy and no processed foods. Then she added being a vegetarian on top of that. I know it was fictional, but she had a good point. We've come to a society that relies on meats and carbs and processed foods. I am still going to eat some carbs and processed foods, but definitely not as much. Definitely, no meat however.
So that's why I'm starting a blog. Every week or every time I think of it, I'll write down how it is going and track my progress throughout the year.
Sadly enough, Jan. 1st and 2nd I had already eaten meat, but I'm starting fresh and new. I'm so determined to do this. Everyone has that new year's resolution of losing weight but never follow through, including me. But this year is different. I'm coming to the end of my junior year in High school and about to enter my senior year. I want to leave home feeling great about myself and my body. Maybe not really show it off. But feel healthy. And I can't wait!!
So here it goes!
